ABSTRACT
Pancreatic cancer (PaCa), a common and highly lethal malignant cancer, is often insensitive to radio- and/or chemotherapy. Therefore, effective treatment regiments are still lacking. Herein, we found that an extract of Ficus carica fruit (EFCF) exerted anti-tumor effects on PaCa cells. EFCF induced cell viability inhibition apoptotic death in two lines dose- time dependent manner. effectively suppressed the migration, metastasis, invasion, colony formation Mechanistically, stimulated increase intracellular ROS promote senescence. also triggered autophagy, autophagy enhanced EFCF-induced death. We decreased mitochondrial membrane potential promoted lipid peroxidation. Moreover, intragastric administration xenograft growth by activating had no apparent toxicity normal pancreatic epithelial Together, these findings suggest may be for PaCa.
