ABSTRACT
The catalytic combustion of methane has gained much attention as a sustainable technology, due to concerns about the environmental impact unburnt emissions from natural gas vehicles. Researchers have explored alternatives precious metal catalysts for combustion, with focus on perovskite oxides known their excellent activity and sintering-resistance capacity. In this study, LaFeO3 material was synthesized subsequently subjected nitric acid etching treatment modify its surface. It found that preferentially dissolved La cations surface while phase unchanged, consequence, etched shows improvement in activity. best performance achieved sample one-hour treatment, which suggests appropriate reconstruction induced by promotes formation more active Fe sites reduces energic barriers activation. This work presents straightforward effective approach tailor exposed properties perovskites, thereby enhancing hydrocarbon reactions.
