ABSTRACT
The present study optimizes Cu-supported catalysts on hydrotalcite for the synthesis of n-butanol whose interest is in its use as biofuel, due to superior performance comparison with other short-chain alcohols. catalytic was improved by adding Nb formulation. In this way, several Cu-Nb supported hydrotalcites (Mg/Al) different loadings were synthesized incipient wetness impregnation and characterized H2−temperature-programmed reduction, X-ray diffraction, N2 physisorption, CO2− NH3−thermo-programmed desorption photoelectron spectroscopy. It shown that incorporation promoted a suitable balance between acid-basic redox sites, modulating Cu0/Cu+ dehydrogenation/hydrogenation properties n-BuOH production. multiple value-added products (n-BuOH, acetaldehyde, ethyl acetate, 1-hexanol) achieved both liquid− (at 180 ºC) gas−phase (150−350 ºC), where it demonstrated selectivity ethanol conversion addition. under time stream their recycling also described.
