ABSTRACT
Problem consideredPremenstrual syndrome (PMS) is one of the most common problems related to menstruation among young females. The severity symptoms PMS differs girls affecting their daily life activities and health-related lives. In developing countries like India there are many stigmas surrounding menstruation, these big barrier for women seek help physical mental discomfort. Hence, this study was conducted estimate prevalence Premenstrual Syndrome college-going in Belagavi, Karnataka, India.MethodsA cross sectional 420 18–25 years age group at several educational institutes Belagavi city, Karnataka. Convenient sampling technique used enroll subjects. Data collected using predesigned, semi-structured, self-administered questionnaire. data analyzed SPSS software 21.0 version.ResultsThe mean menarche found be 13.87 ± 1.44 years. 86%. Around 40.5% participants performed some type activity, 59.5% did not do any activity. Most psychological were depressed mood, irritability, mood swings, poor concentration, etc. Common general body pain, headache, back fatigue, joint behavioral short temper, food cravings oversleeping.ConclusionThis showed high girls. Therefore, teaching awareness programs should schools, college community levels improve knowledge about its management.
