ABSTRACT
Nano-silica is an important admixture for ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC). However, complex production process and agglomeration problem of conventional nano-silica significantly limit its application in UHPC. In this study, a novel highly dispersed colloidal olivine (C-OnS) developed. The properties C-OnS are characterized with laser light scattering, nuclear magnetic resonance zeta-potential. applied UHPC to enhance the cement hydration reduce viscosity, while commercial sol-gel (C-nS) used as reference. effects C-nS on investigated by calorimetry, thermal gravimetry, 29Si 27Al resonance, nitrogen physisorption mercury intrusion porosimeter. results show that enhanced at early ages thanks higher silanol content, surface area dispersibility. advantages dispersive, strong pozzolanic reactivity tailorable particle size provide new possibilities cement-based materials.
