ABSTRACT
Dynamic time-varying operational conditions pose great challenge to the estimation of system remaining useful life (RUL) for deteriorating systems. This paper presents a method based on probabilistic and stochastic approaches estimate RUL periodically monitored degradation processes with dynamic condition-specific failure zones. The assumes that rate is influenced by specific condition moreover, transition between different plays most important role in affecting process. These are assumed evolve as discrete-time Markov chain (DTMC). thresholds also determined described 2008 PHM Conference Challenge Data utilized illustrate our method, which contains mass sensory signals related process commercial turbofan engine. using sensor measurements single was first developed, then multiple vital sensors were selected through particular optimization procedure order increase prediction accuracy. effectiveness advantages proposed presented comparison existing methods same dataset.
