ABSTRACT
Prolonged pressure on the skin known as sores, can cause frequent injuries to and underlying tissues. However, several prevention approaches, including non-surgical surgical management, are available. In flap surgery for a variety of types may be used; each offers certain benefits some incidences complications recurrence. This study evaluated versatility perforator-enhanced rhomboid technique ischial sore construction. prospective was conducted in Plastic Surgery Department Fayoum University Hospital. The employed 20 patients with sores who failed respond conservative treatment. A proper history obtained preoperative arterial duplex performed determine site prominent perforators their preservation at base flap. Postoperative follow-ups evaluations were performed. mean age group 43.7 ± 13.1, ranging from 19 65 years. Moreover, 80% participants males while 20% female. main etiology paraplegia 45% cases. surface area 24.8 6.3 cm2. 75% cases, color match rated excellent. Similarly, 70% thickness 55% scar appearance deemed Overall satisfaction reported excellent by 40% patients, only 5% poor satisfaction. Approximately, 10% cases identified seroma, 30% had wound dehiscence size 1.33 0.98 cm required around 6.8 1.9 weeks heal. is versatile method reconstructing owing its technical ease, short operative time, reliable vascularity, aesthetic outcome, matching color, recovery time. limitations include large defects areas, lack nearby donor flap, scarring prior procedures sore.
