ABSTRACT
This systematic review critically examines the intersection of digital transformation and circular economy (CE) principles within built environment. While digitalisation has been shown to enhance efficiency, safety, sustainability in construction, its role fostering circularity is less established. study analyzes literature from 2010 2022, focusing on how technologies such as open-BIM, twins, material passports, blockchain, RFID, gamification can integrate into building lifecycle. The findings reveal that while tools are pivotal design construction phases, their application existing structures straightforward, with challenges including absence twins for demolished structures, high costs retrofit digitalisation, predominant focus environmental benefits over practical implementation. also highlights need a unified strategy greater cross-industry collaboration. Future research directions proposed, development localized banks, RFID circularity, scope Design Disassembly (DfD) tools, inventory buildings, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) databases, policy implications promoting practices.
