Optimum Solar Collector's North-South Tilt Angles for Dar es Salaam and their Influence on Energy Collection

ABSTRACT
Solar collectors may receive significantly more solar radiation if some kind of Sun tracking is utilised. Optimal collector tilt angles, however, depend on the geographic location and other parameters including insolation for site. In this study, daily, monthly, biannual annual optimum angles are calculated using a angle-latitude relation model. The data then used to obtain monthly yearly through weighted averages considering fluctuations in radiation. angle Dar es Salaam found be 5.3° northwards, whereas due south north 10.5° 18.9°, respectively. Analysis energy collection by north-south revealed an improvement about 5% with daily tilting, 4.3% tilting 0.8% compared fixed horizontal collector. results from study provide optimal significant gain collected realized or Sun.
