ABSTRACT
The prevalence of childhood and adolescent obesity has globally reached alarming dimensions many adolescents affected by already present one or more obesity-related comorbidities. In recent years, emerging evidence supporting the role gut microbiota in pathophysiology metabolic diseases been reported use prebiotics, probiotics, synbiotics postbiotics as a strategy to manipulate become popular. aim this review is explore relationship between syndrome discuss potential for prevention treatment clinical picture adolescence. According most literature, probiotics have no clear effect on MetS, but possible modulation anthropometric parameters observed after synbiotic supplementation. Only study examined alleviating complications children with not adolescents. More extensive research needed support conclusions drawn so far develop effective microbiome-based interventions that may help improving quality life exposed increasing MetS.
