ABSTRACT
With the growing interest to use engineering composite structures, much attention is devoted development of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for impact evaluation. Eddy current pulsed thermography (ECPT) an emerging NDT technique, which firstly investigated crack evaluation in carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) 2011 and preliminary results have shown significant potential. However, research limited by experimental conditions. In this work, detection mechanism structure are analyzed through theoretic analysis validated studies under reflection transmission modes. Laminates impacted with different energies from 4 J 12 characterised. The qualitative quantitative conclusions behavior understanding outlined, helpful develop reliable instruments quality control in-service inspection CFRP.
