ABSTRACT
A novel method is proposed for interlaminar shear testing of marine composites, which accelerates fluid saturation: the I-beam short beam test. layered finite element (FE) model employed to explain nonlinear behavior experiment. Using this model, rectangular and results are compared, yielding consistent results. Dry saturated specimens also compared geometry proposed. The can simulate these effects enables attributing composite response plasticity resin rich inter-ply. In both dry conditions, strength be estimated mainly from matrix properties.
