ABSTRACT
In this work, quasi-static and fatigue analyses of the three most common adhesive repair geometries were performed considering composite patches aluminium as parent material. Experimental three-point bending tests accomplished on single-strap, double-strap scarf repairs in order to obtain load-displacement curves for analysis, compliance versus number cycles studies. The main goals are identify static strength lives each type repair. addition, progressive damage that rely two cohesive zone models appropriate high-cycle under mixed-mode I+II loading performed. These allow simulation initiation propagation loading. It was found both able replicate fundamental trends observed experimentally, thus establishing their effectiveness.
