ABSTRACT
Abstract In order to improve the oxidation and hot corrosion resistance of blades tip as well as the sealing performance of gas turbine engine, a NiCrAlYSi + NiAl/cBN abrasive coating was prepared by combining arc ion plating, electroplating and above-pack aluminisation. Oxidation and hot corrosion behavior of the abrasive coating were investigated. Results indicated that the abrasive coating showed lower oxidation and degradation rate at 900 °C. NaCl aggravated the corrosion extent via cyclic chlorination/oxidation reaction, and the cBN/metallic coating interface also played a crucial role as a shortcut of the corrosive media. Besides, the oxidation and hot corrosion mechanisms were discussed.
