ABSTRACT
Abstract The Pd-SiO2 catalysts were facilely prepared through one-step flame spray pyrolysis process using hydrogen as reduction gas. It was proofed that the particle size distribution of Pd on SiO2 were great dependent on the thermal treatment process. The catalytic oxidation of aromatic hydrocarbon shows that toluene is more easily oxidized over Pd-SiO2 than two-component mixture of benzene and toluene and the mixture of benzene, toluene and o-xylene. And the as-prepared catalysts obtained at 900 °C showed the highest catalytic activity for toluene conversion, while the samples prepared at 700 °C presented the best oxidation activity for the mixed gases of toluene-benzene and benzene-toluene-o-xylene.
