ABSTRACT
Wheat bran, a significant cereal by-product, is widely used in animal husbandry and the food industry. Our previous study identified correlation between fiber utilization Tibetan pigs their efficient hindgut fermentation capacity. In this study, Bacillus altitudinis strain Z-99, capable of cellulose degradation, was isolated from pigs. The results solid-state demonstrated reduction neutral detergent (NDF), acid (ADF), hemicellulose content by 12.26 % (P < 0.01), 1.58 0.05), 10.68 respectively, while crude protein increased 1.90 0.01). Compared to control group, supplementation with Z-99 enhanced vitro characteristics wheat bran. particular, it significantly theoretical maximum gas production 0.05) elevated acetic butyric isobutyric valeric total short-chain fatty acids Furthermore, addition abundance Bifidobacterium Blautia decreasing disease-associated Enterococcus 0.01) Actinobacillus 0.05). Overall, cellulose-degrading capacity pigs, its functionality validated through methods. This provided valuable insights into bran exploration bacteria.
