ABSTRACT
The presence of microcracks can lead to a reduction in the durability concrete structures. In recent years, crystalline admixture has been used repair concrete. this study, effect different amounts on performance mortar was firstly determined. order reveal purpose with 4% healed under three types curing environments (standard curing, water immersion, and saturated calcium hydroxide solution). self-healing specimens characterized macroscopically by absorption tests visualized crack images after repair. type filler determined microscopic analysis experiments XRD SEM-EDX. experimental results show that, firstly, is limited standard environments. Secondly, immersion environment plays weak role promoting healing mortars without admixture, addition leads due large amount production hydrated silicate. Finally, solution beneficial cracks precipitation from solution. After mortar, ions promote generation silicate hydrate, acts together fill crack, resulting being completely healed.
