ABSTRACT
Based on the qualities of environmental protection and metal adsorption, alginate fibers were utilized as new curing agents to reinforce cement stabilized dredged silt. The influences fiber content (0%, 0.3%, 0.6%, 0.9% by weight wet soil), (6%, 9%, 12% time (7, 14, 28and 60 days) compressive strength investigated unconfined test, reinforcement mechanism was analyzed. A modified model considering parameters including moisture soil, time, length fibers, for predicting established. experimental results revealed that failure mode reinforced soil changed from brittle ductile with increasing fibers. Moreover, sample improved However, is 3 mm, which can be used optimum determined analyzing growth rate soil. Finally, values compared measured values, it found calculated this within 20% results, engineering prediction.
