ABSTRACT
In conventional closed-wedge high tibial osteotomy (CWHTO) with preservation of the medial hinge, flexion contracture cannot be improved because two-dimensional correction. Conversely, in hybrid CWHTO, for which name is derived from a lateral closing and opening, cortex intentionally disrupted. The hinge disruption enables three-dimensional correction, helps eliminate by decreasing posterior slope (PTS). fine adjustment anterior distance thigh-compression technique further facilitates PTS control. this study, we describe use Reduction-Insertion-Compression Handle (RICH), maximizes benefits CWHTO. This device permits accurate reduction, easy screw insertion, assists providing sufficient compressive force at site, as well elimination contracture. Technical Note presents details using RICH associated advantages disadvantages CWHTO compartmental knee arthritis.
