ABSTRACT
Geodiversity refers to the variety of abiotic elements and processes present at different scales dimensions in an area. In this study, combination geological formations, structural lineaments dikes, geomorphological compartments, soil classes, relief, hydrographic systems, climatic aspects is considered as geodiversity Marrecas River drainage basin south-western region state Paraná, southern Brazil. These components were superimposed on a regular 2 × km grid map (1:250,000) indices applied quantify assess variation their distribution along basin. The results indicate lower some interfluves river estuary area with homogeneous relief. On other hand, higher rates detected several valleys, which contain greater because they are embedded dissected. Common diversity indices, generally used biodiversity studies, determine richness study area, such as: Shannon, Simpson's, E-Pielou, Margalef Menhinick indices. Similar biodiversity, assessment should not be restricted but also include spatial environmental according frequency levels. show that geographic objects, continuous rather than discrete, more useful absence standards regarding geodiversity.
