ABSTRACT
The protection system has a vital role in subsystems of the power network including generation, transmission and distribution system. This combines several types relays directional over current relay, differential distance earth faults inverse definite minimum time (IDMT) relay for line, generators bus bars, transformers, line to ground feeder lines In this research paper, overall performance is improved by reducing operational (DOCRs) through optimal coordination between primary backup protective while keeping multiplier setting (TMS), pickup tap (PTS) interval (CTI) within allowable limits. A new optimization strategy, namely FPSOGSA, developed integrating concept fractional calculus inside mathematical model canonical particle swarm combining with traditional gravitational search algorithm enhance optimizer characteristics tested on problem DOCRs standard systems IEEE 3, 8 15 networks. results, yielded proposed their comparison other well-known recently established counterparts, reveal that synergy FC, PSO GSA individual strengths these tools finding best global solution. consistency, stability reliability FPSOGSA endorsed comprehensive statistical analysis based empirical cumulative function, histograms, boxplot illustrations, quantile–quantile plots, fitness evolution each independent simulation.
