ABSTRACT
Due to the limited availability of discharge data in many catchments globally, it is important develop a calibration method that does not rely solely on data. Motivated by this limitation, two approaches using water level directly hydrological calibrations are proposed study. The first Spearman Rank correlation (SRC) based scheme, which calibrates modelled streamflow against observed correlation. second an Inverse Rating Curve (IRC) function introduces three more parameters simulate from inverse rating curve. new tested 11 Australia and resulting predictions show good with observations. However, results present large biases between observations estimated due inherent limitation approach: absence information true range process. To mitigate biases, magnitude-sensitive SRC/IRC-based schemes incorporate small number developed bias issue then mitigated significantly, but improvement consistent throughout examined catchments. One most critical challenges correction whole dynamic constrained few data, overall, only prove be promising.
