ABSTRACT
Information regarding fishing grounds was needed to assist fishermen in their activities. about the sea surface chlorophyll-a concentration (SSCC) and temperature (SST) could be used as a reference identify potential zones (PFZ). The purpose of this study SST SSCC data using MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) satellite imagery for determining PFZ analyzing distribution pattern seasonally. determination point carried out by overlaying based on results image processing. showed that points Bangka Strait waters predominantly found Banyuasin waters. dry season (June-August) transition II (September-November) had same tended dominate coastal areas patterns wet (December-February) I (March-May) spread throughout most were (636 points), while minor (219 points). Integrating remote sensing GIS technique with statistical validation tests useful became simple method identifying distribution. However, validating distributions catch required.
