ABSTRACT
The initial phase of the Gulf Suez rifting in late Oligocene was accompanied by eruption continental basaltic magmas, which continued to early Miocene. Within rift zone at Abu Zenima area, west-central Sinai, several km-scale Oligo-Miocene exposures form dykes, sills and lava flows intruded/extruded Phanerozoic sedimentary successions. These outcrops were successfully discriminated from their country rocks remote sensing techniques, using Landsat-8 dataset. basalts are evolved tholeiitic, Ti-rich varieties exhibit narrow compositional range with absence any felsic counterparts, suggesting equilibrium crystallization process evolutions rather than fractional mechanism. Simulations evolution trajectories these have been modeled.
