ABSTRACT
Organ preserving treatment strategies and the introduction of a colorectal cancer-screening program have likely influenced resection rates rectal cancer. The aim this study is to assess influence these developments on cancer in Netherlands.Patients diagnosed with non-metastatic between 2013 2018, were selected from Netherlands Cancer Registry. distribution surgical neo-adjuvant analyzed compared over time.Between 2018 22640 patients incidence early stage (cT1) disease increased 141 (4%) 448 (12%) 2018. use neoadjuvant radiotherapy chemo-radiotherapy dropped 39% 21% 34%-25%, respectively. A decrease (including TEM) was observed 85% 73%. proportion who underwent endoscopic resections 3% 10%. larger treated chemo-radiotherapy.An increase I noted after screening program.
