ABSTRACT
This work presents the development of an electrochemical microsystem for antipsychotic clozapine treatment monitoring in schizophrenia patients. In our previous work, we demonstrated detection directly spiked whole blood samples a healthy volunteer using chitosan–carbon nanotube-modified microelectrode with external counter and reference electrodes. Here present miniaturization sensing approach its clinical validation real obtained from 10 We observed sensitivity 0.02 ± 2.3 × 10-4 mA/cm2µM 0.003 2.6 limit 0.08 9.2 µM 0.45 0.04 microelectrodes 20 µL volume capillary plasma blood. Following calibration curve, which was patients prior to therapy administration, levels were recovered patients' after clozapine. The developed allows analysis microliter finger-pricked without any pretreatment steps. By further integration this sensor into point-of-care testing device, management can be improved.
