ABSTRACT
Under intense environmental pressure, the global energy sector is promoting integration of renewable into interconnected systems. The demand-side management (DSM) systems has drawn considerable industrial and academic attention in attempts to form new flexibilities respond variations inputs system. However, many DSM concepts are still experimental demonstration phase. One obstacles usage that current information infrastructure was mainly designed for centralized systems, does not meet requirements. To overcome this barrier, paper proposes a novel named Internet Energy Things (IoET) order make practicable by basing it on latest wireless communication technology: low-power wide-area network (LPWAN). primary advantage LPWAN over general packet radio service (GPRS) area (IoT) its coverage, which comes with minimum power consumption maintenance costs. Against background, briefly reviews representative technologies narrow-band (NB-IoT) Long Range (LoRa) technology, compares them GPRS IoT technology. Next, wireless-to-cloud architecture proposed IoET, based main technical features LPWAN. Finally, looks forward potential IoET various application scenarios.
