ABSTRACT
Cadmium exposure has been inconsistently related with hypertension. However, epidemiologic data on the genetic susceptibility to hypertensive effect of cadmium are limited. We investigated whether associations between and hypertension risk differed by polymorphisms in MMPs genes. The present study 497 cases healthy controls was conducted a Chinese population. Urinary levels were measured inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). Multivariable logistic regression models analyzed after controlling major confounders. Within multivariable models, compared lowest tertile, highest tertile urinary had 1.33-fold (95% CI: 1.01, 1.93) increased Carriers rs243865 T allele rs243866 A MMP-2 suggested have risks modified rs14070 (P-value for interaction = 0.022) rs7201 0.009) gene MMP-2. Positively significant trends increasing odds observed among wild types rs7201, respectively. Increasing concentrations positively associated population, polymorphism
