ABSTRACT
More and more effective research is needed to help address complex sustainability problems. Many approaches have adopted transdisciplinary characteristics as a way improve effectiveness. However, empirical evidence of the extent which how design implementation contribute (more) scientific social outcomes remains limited. This paper reports comparative analysis five research-for-development projects implemented in Peru Indonesia to: characterize employed principles; assess intended project were achieved; analyze relationship between outcomes; provide lessons from experience using theory-based approach evaluate set case studies. Our demonstrates that employing principles their make diverse contributions greater breadth influence.
