ABSTRACT
In nature, numerous creatures have evolved exquisite structures, surface wettabilities, and interfacial interactions to manipulate fluids for survival, such as water collection, feeding, air capture, exchange, etc. These unique functionalities become a constant source of inspiration human beings explore versatile applications. Recently, the control gas or liquid transport has attracted more attention owing great potentiality in various fields. Particularly, drive that does not rely on gravity is significance applications under micro- reduced-gravity conditions. This review gives brief description fluid mechanisms living organisms biomimetic design create controllable manipulation devices. The recent progress gravity-independent transport, underwater multiphase are classified summarized. crucial influence geometric structures wettabilities dynamic behaviors driven behind these behaviors, along with emerging applications, opportunities, challenges, presented.
