ABSTRACT
Cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) are key metals for next-generation clean technologies with broad applications in industrial, military commercial products. However, the knowledge about their environmental impact toxicity to aquatic organisms remain limited, especially early developmental stages of fish. Thus, current study aimed evaluate Co Ni zebrafish (Danio rerio). Zebrafish embryo-larval test (ZELT) was conducted at different concentrations (10, 20, 40, 60, 80 100 mg L−1) during 144 h a static condition. Multiple biomarker responses were analyzed, such as mortality, hatching rate, neurotoxicity, cardiotoxicity, teratogenesis, morphometric changes. Results showed high embryotoxicity compared Co. Both inhibited process induced morphological changes, inhibition swim bladder inflation, yolk sac edema pericardial edema. bradycardia embryos, while caused tachycardia, indicating differential cardiotoxic effects. Overall, exposure disrupts development zebrafish, confirming risk health freshwater indicated ZELT suitable approach assess technologies.
