ABSTRACT
The SARS-CoV-2 virus is highly infectious resulting in increased infection and death among the front-line Healthcare Workers (HCW) because of limited access to personal protective equipment (PPE). This study assesses availability self-reported use PPE amongst HCW during COVID-19 pandemic Nigeria. A mixed-method was conducted through a cross-sectional survey in-depth interviews HCW. Quantitative data analysis done using SPSS version 26 thematic for interview. total 258 completed while 15 took part mean age 40 (±8.6) years, 67.4% were female 83.3% married. 49% Doctors, 21.1% Nurses, 28.7% other allied 62.2% had at least 10 years practice experience. Only 22.1% HCWs regular only 20.6% N-95 facemask compare PPEs. Male those working secondary or tertiary facilities (p-value 0.025 0.010 respectively). facilitator leadership quality hospital head donation barriers include supply PPE, as well facility's infrastructural operational challenges. reported essential with varying perspectives on its use.
