ABSTRACT
Zinc is an essential trace element involved in different physiological functions. During pregnancy, it plays a crucial role healthy embryogenesis. This umbrella review, therefore, aimed to summarize the existing literature of meta-analyses evaluating effect maternal zinc supplementation or status on and neonatal outcomes. Two databases, PubMed Scopus, were selected search available without any temporal restriction. The was performed during October 2020 total 192 records identified through search. After screening titles applying inclusion/exclusion criteria, finally, 15 articles included this review. review showed that supplements reduce risk preterm birth. Although no substantial found for other feto-maternal Also, we significant relationship between low pregnancy complications. Long-term interventions cohort studies are needed future research directions. Further thorough investigation will help decide recommended dose intake pregnancy.
