ABSTRACT
Undernutrition in early life associates with increased risk for type 2 diabetes later life. Whether similar associations hold other diseases remains unclear. We aim to quantify how perinatal exposure famines relates the of becoming incident Using population-wide medical claims data Austrians aged >50y, yearly incidence was measured an epidemiological progression model. find rates that increase from 2013 2017 and observe two famine-related birth cohorts 5,887 patients rate increases up 78% males 59% females compared born years earlier.
