ABSTRACT
The use of signal dogs for cancer detection is not yet routinely performed, but and their powerful olfactory system have proven to be a unique valuable tool many lineages are beginning incorporated into medical practice. This method has great advantages; the dog can detect tumour in human body already preclinical stages, when patient no symptoms yet. identification biomarkers enable early diagnosis need types cancer, whose prognosis strongly dependent on stage disease. However, this also its various pitfalls that must taken account. aim study was identify highlight factors affect level accuracy, but conditions associated with olfactometric diagnosis. included 48 handlers, were part training between 2016 2023.All those who started olfactometry remained at least one year study. ranged age from 8 months 12 years different races sexes. After long-term observation, qualitative analysis performed may play role disease listed. results search been compiled two groups, focussing actual handling biological sample collection, processing, storage until transport, preparation sample, and detection. Focus work behaviour handler. There factors; however, it worth addressing them because canine sense smell possible uses as diagnostic method.
