ABSTRACT
Stress amongst dental students is frequently reported. Various environmental, socioeconomic, and cultural factors affect students' perceived stress levels. The aim of this study was to investigate levels sources undergraduate at Damascus University, Syria.A cross-sectional design used. A questionnaire undertaken in 2019 the Faculty Dentistry University. Students participated voluntarily survey. sample comprised preclinical clinical stage. modified 29-item version validated Dental Environmental (DES) with a 5-point scale (1 = not stressful 5 extremely stressful) used as measurement tool. Ethical approval granted by University.In all, 365 study, response rate 96% (365/379). Cronbach's alpha 0.83, indicating good reliability overall mean score 2.64 (95% confidence interval [CI], 2.5-2.7). scores for factors, academic work, educational environment, personal living accommodation were 3.22 CI, 3.1-3.3), 3.17 3.1-3.2), 2.99 2.9-3.0), 2.15 2.1-2.2), 2.0-2.2), respectively. specific stressors highest lack equipment difficulty finding requested cases; respective means 4.1 4.0-4.2) 3.9 3.8-4.0).The findings revealed moderate students. major pertained from clinical, academic, environment domains. Certain environmental stressors, such cases equipment, more powerful than strongest examinations grades amount assigned work.
