Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with an increased risk of stroke and the combination AF mitral stenosis (MS) a higher risk. In developed nations, degenerative (DMS) constitutes sizeable proportion patients MS. Current international guidelines do not offer recommendations regarding anticoagulation in these patients. The objective this study was to describe incidence or systemic embolism DMS without prevalent AF.
