An approach to developing and protecting linear heritage tourism: The construction of cultural heritage corridor of traditional villages in Mentougou District using GIS

There are about 180 villages in Mentougou District. The typical regional landscape characteristics and profound cultural historical geographical value of these ancient have rendered the district a unique tourism resource west Beijing. With ongoing social development population migration, values carried by faced with risk o f diminish ment. It is therefore great significance to integrate protect traditional promote this area. Based on 62 villages, paper uses concept linearity define spatial influence each village culture from macro, meso micro perspectives help ArcGIS analysis software construct corridor pattern On basis, levels, functional nature finely delineated conjunction actual situation. In way, fragmented resources integrated natural, transportation aspects achieve consistency, complete existing roads, form comprehensive for area District, especially organisation routes, overall planning heritage utilisation.
