ABSTRACT
Magnesium borohydride (Mg(BH4)2) shows interesting properties both from fundamental and applicative points of view. Mg(BH4)2 has the most complex crystal structures largest number phase polymorphs among other borohydrides. Some these possess a significant porosity, on hand ultra-density with second highest volumetric hydrogen content all known hydrides. Additionally, demonstrates lowest theoretical stability, temperature release, mildest conditions for partial rehydrogenation alkali alkaline-earth could also be interest in batteries applications, since Mg metal holds better capacity is more abundant than Li. In this work we review recent results synthesis, structure, storage battery-related applications Mg(BH4)2.
