ABSTRACT
Ammonia represents one of the most promising potential solutions as energy vector and hydrogen carrier, having a higher to transport than itself in pressurized form. Furthermore, solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) can directly be fed with ammonia, thus allowing for immediate electrical power heat generation. This paper deals analysis dynamic behavior commercial SOFCs when fueled ammonia. Several measurements at different temperatures have been performed performances are compared stoichiometrically equivalent mixture H2 N2 (3:1 M ratio). Higher temperature led smaller drops voltage both fuels, providing efficiencies. resulted slightly more performant (48% 760 °C) (45% °C), short stack tests. Moreover, ammonia-to-air ratios investigated area-specific resistance has studied detail by comparing numerical modeling predictions experimental values.
