ABSTRACT
Fuel Hydrogen cells become nowadays a major candidate to replace the diesel in powering traction locomotives since they offer low emission of pollutant gases, high efficiency, and flexible modular structure without need for installation electrification infrastructure railway networks. However, cannot respond appropriately fast load transients due their slow internal electrochemical thermodynamic responses. Therefore, shall be integrated with dynamics Li-ion battery form hybrid power source systems. Accordingly, this paper presents development new smart fuel hydrogen supply dual three-phase machines driving trains The developed control management system is regulating two sources according train operational modes as well state charge. In addition that, several superiorities over conventional such lower harmonic distortion losses along higher density fault tolerance. A designated line nominated through selection criteria implementation drive HIL platform using Typhoon real time simulator. Moreover, an optimization analysis has been carried out reduce overall consumption same journey spent particle swarm approach. Finally, case study presented illustrate proof concept designing refueling station railways which are supplied by cells. investigates site selection, assessment, equipment requirements.
