The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic utility a novel test kit that could theoretically detect all serogroups Legionella pneumophila for diagnosing pneumonia, in comparison with existing kits. This conducted 16 hospitals Japan from April 2016 December 2018. Three urinary antigen kits were used: (LAC-116), BinaxNOW (Binax), and Q-line Kyokutou (Q-line). In addition, sputum culture nucleic acid detection tests serum antibody performed where possible. accuracy correlations two analyzed. In total, 56 patients diagnosed pneumonia. sensitivities LAC-116, Binax, 79%, 84%, 71%, respectively. overall match rate between LAC-116 Binax 96.8% 96.4%. One patient had L. serogroup 2, only showed positive result, whereas did not.The useful it pneumonia caused by non-L. 1.
