ABSTRACT
The majority of the energy in fuel burned internal combustion engines is lost form waste heat. To address this issue, heat recovery technology has been proposed to increase overall efficiency engine. This paper investigates a driven cooling system based on supercritical CO2 (S-CO2) power cycle integrated with transcritical (T-CO2) refrigeration cycle, aiming provide an alternative absorption system. combined produce for food preservation refrigerated truck by In system, S-CO2 absorbs from exhaust gas and generated expander used drive compressors both T-CO2 cycle. Unlike bulky plant vapour compression refrigerator can be scaled down few kilo Watts, opening possibility developing small-scale that widely applied IC truck, ship train. A new layout sharing common cooler also studied. results suggest concept S-CO2/T-CO2 comparable performance it thermodynamically feasible. contained sufficient enough cabinet whose surface area more than 105 m2.
