ABSTRACT
The association of hepatic sarcoidosis with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is considerably rare. Here we report a rare case HCC associated sarcoidosis.A 75-year-old male no history alcohol addiction or viral hepatitis was referred to our hospital because an abnormal liver mass. Subsegmentectomy the performed for diagnosis HCC. A histopathological examination revealed small non-necrotizing granulomas tendency coalesce that were scattered in and around carcinoma. No features cirrhosis, steatohepatitis, any other diseases observed. Furthermore, swelling bilateral lung hilar lymph nodes uptake 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose found on positron emission tomography/computed tomography tuberculin reaction test results negative. On basis these findings, final confirmed.By reviewing previous cases, only five cases described patients diagnosed sarcoidosis. Of these, four died within two years after ruptures inoperable huge tumors. In contrast, radical hepatectomy at earlier stage disease patients, including ours, both have remained healthy recurrences metastases latest follow-up visit.Periodic checkups should be conducted systemic sarcoidosis, regardless presence cirrhosis.
