ABSTRACT
Concrete shell structures offer a mechanically efficient solution as building floor system to reduce the environmental impact of our buildings. Although curved geometry shells can be an obstacle their fabrication and implementation, digital affordable robotics provide means for automation construction in sustainable manner at industrial scale. The applicability such is demonstrated this paper with realisation large-scale concrete system, completed by columns, tie rods, levelled floor. was prefabricated off-site segments that transported assembled on-site, which disassembled enable circular economy construction. This presents conceptual structural design; fabrication, thanks actuated, reconfigurable, reusable mould robotic spraying process; strategy sequence assembly disassembly on-site using standard scaffold elements; sustainability assessment life-cycle analysis. prototype offers reduction about 50% cradle-to-gate embodied carbon benchmarked against regular flat slabs before further improvement optimisation.
