ABSTRACT
The paper presents an experimental and finite element investigation of bolted flange-plate with bonded sleeve splice connections for joining pultruded glass fibre-reinforced polymer (GFRP) circular tubular beams. moment-rotation behaviour was investigated in terms initial rotational stiffness, moment capacity rotation all the tested connections. effect number bolts, thickness length were examined. Failure modes thinner flange-plates included opening, bending yielding tension zone. Thicker a higher bolts exhibited improved stiffness lower capacity, which can be enhanced by lengths. Available design codes steel joints used to classify regards rigidity strength. failure from models consistent observations, includes plastic deformation cohesive adhesive.
