ABSTRACT
Portable, smartphone-sized electrocardiography (ECG) has the potential to reduce time treatment for patients suffering acute cardiac ischemia, thereby lowering morbidity and mortality. In UMC Utrecht, a portable, smartphone-sized, multi-lead precordial ECG recording device (miniECG 1.0, Utrecht) was developed. The purpose of this study investigate ability miniECG capture ischemic changes in porcine coronary occlusion model. 8 animals, antero-septal myocardial infarction induced by 75-minute left anterior descending artery, after first or second diagonal. MiniECG 12-lead recordings were acquired simultaneously before, during artery ST-segment deviation evaluated. During complete reperfusion period, showed large comparison ECG. observed within 1 minute most animals. positive ischemia (ie, ≥1 mm) 99.7% (Q1-Q3: 99.6%-99.9%) time, while only 79.8% 81.1%-98.7%) (P = 0.018). reached maxima 10.5 mm [95% CI: 6.5-14.5 mm] vs 5.0 2.0-8.0 ECG, respectively. early magnitude 75 minutes transmural infarction. period. These findings demonstrate detection ischemia. Although clinical research is required, data suggests that promising tool
