ABSTRACT
It is important for elderly patients with cognitive impairment to assess the impact that memory loss has on functional capacity of everyday activities. Performance these activities directly related independent living and need care. Systematic assessment appropriate scales thus an clinical research issue. The Everyday Cognition (ECog) scale a relatively new informant subjective-rated measure instrumental daily function. objective this study was determine validity internal consistency informant-rated ECog in Argentina-Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (Arg-ADNI) sample. We evaluated 15 clinically normal (CN), 28 mild (MCI), 13 Alzheimer's (AD) dementia subjects from Arg-ADNI. External, convergent divergent were examined. average total score significantly different across three diagnostic syndromes (p<.05). area under curve (AUC) .978 (95% CI= .94-.99). more sensitive than Functional Activities Questionnaire (FAQ) discriminating between MCI patients. showed moderate strong correlation other measures function, including Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) FAQ correlations neuropsychological tests. Cronbach’s alpha .98. Co-varying age or education had no effect results. efficient instrument differentiation individuals older adults, good accuracy tests measuring functions.
