ABSTRACT
The peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerase Pin1 regulates factors involved in control of cell growth and apoptosis. Notch1 is a transmembrane receptor that plays crucial role neurogenesis neuronal death. Overexpression knockdown vitro mice stroke model. increased γ-secretase activity NICD levels, potentiated death ischemia-like condition. By contrast, using siRNA or knockout reduced the level ischemic Also, we found affected by focal ischemia-reperfusion. stimulates activation its pro-apoptotic function following stroke. heterozygote (+/-) (-/-) showed brain damage improved functional outcomes model contributes to pathogenesis promoting Notch signaling.
