ABSTRACT
Synthesis of hydrocalumite–TiO2 hybrid systems and their use in photodegradation ibuprofen is reported for the first time. Hydrocalumite was prepared with Al3+ recovered from an aluminum slag (circular economy), TiO2 deposited on hydrocalumite by hydrolysis titanium(IV) isopropoxide, solids thus obtained were calcined at 400 750 ºC. The solid ºC essentially amorphous, showing presence calcite due to fixation atmospheric CO2, while composed mayenite, perovskite rutile. used catalytic degradation (50 ppm aqueous solutions) under UV irradiation, obtaining better results than when using commercial TiO2–P25 Degussa. Under specific conditions used, took place initial steps process, mainly giving rise species higher molecular mass ibuprofen.
